Undulating with good tree cover, it boasts a magnificent modern licensed club, providing all the facilities that a visitor requires including function rooms and dining. The historic town of Gympie is the main entrance to the delights of the Cooloola Coast, the Great Sandy National Park, magnificent Fraser Island and the unique wine region of the South Burnett. Come, see for yourself...a warm welcome awaits.

Our area
Gympie is an old gold mining town situated along the Bruce Highway on the Fraser Coast. You can find out about the mining industry in Gympie at the Gympie and District Historical and Mining Museum. As the heritage and cultural centre of the Cooloola Region, Gympie boasts a tradition that few areas in Queensland can offer. Gympie offers the warm hospitality of a country town with all the modern conveniences. Known as the 'Town that Saved Queensland', Gympie's proud heritage began in 1867 with the discovery of gold by prospector James Nash at the site now occupied by the Town Hall. At the time, Queensland was facing bankruptcy due to drought and the fall in wool prices. However, Nash made the five day journey down the Mary River from Maryborough and, after digging up 75 ounces of gold in six days, staked his claim. The Gympie Gold Rush was on, injecting the boost to the Queensland economy that enabled the colony to survive. Distance from Brisbane (State Capital): 160 Kilometres.

About ourselves
Noel and Lyn are both working in and around the mining industry in Queensland, but love to play golf. We have 3 sons with families. 8 Grandchildren. We like to travel when we get the chance although have not had the chance to travel too far because of work committments. We look forward to going to Europe to visit our Danish exchange student within the next year or so.
